Preview Report:
Stockton Town VS
North Ferriby
North Ferriby FC are back in league action this Saturday as they travel to Stockton Town.
The Villagers had a successful run out in the FA Trophy last Saturday. Chris Bolder’s side avenged their FA cup defeat to Prescot Cables by overcoming the Merseyside outfit 6-5 on penalties.
The Villagers took the lead twice in the game through goals from Niall Tilsley and Danny Earl. Joel Shortland fired In the winning penalty.
Stockton currently sit in 9th place. They exited the FA Trophy last weekend, losing 2-0 to Bootle. Last season Stockton finished 2nd and therefore qualified for the play offs. They were defeated by Long Eaton in the final on penalties. Chris Bolder shared his thoughts ahead of the game, “We are looking forward to another really tough test on Saturday against Stockton. A team that has consistently been right up there each season so I’m sure will be looking to go one better this time”.
Bolder went on to preview the game by discussing the availability of players and the challenge of playing on a 4g pitch, “We are missing a good number of players for varying reasons which is not ideal but something we just have to deal with and get on with it, although we are hoping to soften the blow by bringing a couple in.
It’s a 4G surface too which is never ideal as it definitely plays differently to grass so we will have to adapt very quickly and look to impose our game on them”
