North Ferriby VS Ossett United


The Villagers claim a midweek point at the Versa Sportswear Stadium following a two-all draw against Ossett United to see their unbeaten run move to eight games.

Chris Bolder made two changes to the starting eleven from Saturday’s impressive victory over Matlock Town; Elliott Walker and Charlie Clements replaced Luke Hogg and Josh Whiteley whilst Myron Gibbons and Jason St Juste returned to the bench.

The Villagers were in the ascendancy from the off With Elliott Walker instigating Ferriby’s attacking prowess. Ferriby’s intensity paid dividends inside the opening ten as Charlie Clements cut in from the left, driving a well hit strike inside the far post.

The Villagers fine work continued and were awarded a spot kick shortly before the half hour mark; With no Josh Whiteley in the squad, Elliott Walker stepped up and slotted away a tidy spot kick, making it two-nil.

Despite Ferriby’s continued offensive, the visitors were able to claw back a goal six minutes from the break. Despite that, Ferriby felt hard done by shortly before the break as the match officials waved away a sound penalty shout.

A new half of football dawned, and this time it was the Sheepicornsthat began well; however, the Villagers backline showcased their solid defensive prowess. Eight minutes into the half and it was all square as Jack Crook found a leveller for Ossett.

From then the tie offered something of a possessional tug of war, as both looked to source a winner. Through a number of set pieces, Ferriby perhaps offered the best eye for goal as Charlie Clements came closest.

Another potential game defining moment came as Conor Qualter was sent for an early shower following a second bookable offence. Ferriby’s thirst for winner grew from then and we’re once again denied shouts for a penalty.

With ninety on the clock, Ferriby came agonisingly close to winning it as Myron Gibbons did exceptionally well on the edge of the eighteen-yard area, eventually seeing Dennison on the receiving end, his deflected shot millimetres wide.
