Match Report
North Ferriby VS
Dunston
In a murky evening at the Versa Sportswear Stadium, North Ferriby Football Club were handed their seventh league defeatof the Northern Premier League East campaign following a narrow one-nil loss against Dunston UTS.
A spirited effort from the Villagers came and despite considerable spells of possession from Dunston, Ferriby held very well with Ben Bottomley producing a number of fine saves to deny the visitors advances.
Voldi Mbaya produced a moment of hope for the home support, as his looping ball in from the right found Josh Thacker at the back post whose fierce strike rippled the side netting.
Ferriby were soon in the ascendancy with Tom McDonald showing good strength to battle past the Dunston defence: his heavily deflected shot claimed by Tyler Jones.
Ben Bottomley showed his worth late on after seeing the visitors in a goal scoring position, producing another fine stop to see the teams level at the break.
It was a positive start to the second forty-five from the Villagerswith Tom McDonald producing another good piece of attacking football early on, denied by Tyler Jones.
The one and only goal of the tie came eight minutes into the second period as Fin Neary turned the ball home from a Phil Turnbull cross out left.
Ferriby remained in a positive fashion with both Tom McDonald and Mason Johnson spearheading Ferriby’s attacking prowess, but wholesale change came either side the hour.
