Ossett United VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby Football Club return to the East Riding of Yorkshire inspired, after showcasing their grit to securepoint following a two-all draw against Ossett United at Ingfield Road.

A contained first period saw the Villagers lead at the break, and the hosts thought they’d overturned the tie until a.late showing from Mason Johnson averted defeat for the Villagers.

As expected, the conditions brought about a scrappy, battling affair at Ingfield Road, but Ferriby were up for the challenge. The first real effort in anger saw Ben Bottomley produce the games first save of quality.

With fifteen on the clock, Ferriby were ahead. A set pieceawarded just inside the Ossett half, Jack Walters floated the ball in with Lewis Dennison on hand to pounce on a mistake from Aleck Petrovic.

The Villagers continued to contain their hosts in a respectable manner, and Ben Bottomley’s goal keeping showcased ensued with a brave claim with half an hour gone.

A new half dawned a deserved good start to the half saw the Villagers begin well, however, Ossett were to claw a goal back, ten minutes into the second half thanks to Franklin Middleton.

Ferriby’s defence were in top form to halt an application of pressure from Ossett, which eventually saw them take the lead fifteen from time.

The game continued in a battling manner and North Ferriby’s resolve never wavered from that moment, and a deserved second goal in added time from Mason Johnson saw the Villagers win the day.
