Match Report

Blyth Spartans VS North Ferriby

North Ferriby Football Club’s improving run of form continues with another promising display in the North-East, as they claim another point on the road against Blyth Spartans.

In a game of little opportunity, the Villagers showed grit once more to pull the game back from possible defeat and claim a decent point against an improving Blyth Spartans.

Once more, it was very much the Villagers in the opening stages of match day thirty-five of the Northern Premier League East Division, as Lewis Dennison fired home off the back of a good Rio Molyneaux move.

From there, Ferriby very much continued to press and came very close to doubling the heir lead midway through the opening half of it weren’t for some solid defending from Charlie Stirland.

Blyth themselves, could have been on the score sheet after thirty-two minutes after Paul Van Zandvlet headed the ball in to the path of Lucas Taylor who could only fire wide.

And with virtually the final kick of the half, Blyth found themselves level as Paul Van Zandvlet headed home from a corner.

It was a new half of football, and the hosts claimed the open moments as they fouls themselves ahead, courtesy of Lucas Taylor.

It proved very much even Stevens from then as both sets of players searched for a foothold in the tie, and it ultimately fell to Ferriby as James Williamson fired home, ten minutes from time.
